11/16/04- All

Hey guys, I made the ethylene data provided for the ethylene response lab a little bit more user friendly. In this document, there is also 1 of the graph already made as an example.

I also 11/15/04- All

The first 2 weeks of RAW data for the chilling injury are up. Thanks to Melissa and Dorothy for entering the data for you all.

11/10/04- All

The raw data for the ethylene lab is ready for download. Included within it are observation notes taken by students from Pullman. Note that they were not taken every two days as they should have.

11/10/04- Off campus students

Part of the chilling injury lab protocol was been changed. The commodities were 4 sets of 3 bananas, 4 green peppers, and 4 oranges. Only 2 factors were considered for the lab: heat treatment (so hot bath) and room temperature. The initial data for colimetry will be posted shortely.

The raw data for the quality lab is up for grab!

-Only the water loss lab is due on the 29th.

-The quality lab is due on the tuesday November 2nd.

-The raw data for the water loss lab is up for download. Assume that the relative huimidity was constant.

-Remember this is raw data. You are expected to differenciate between what is and is not important to present in the results. You are expected to work with the data. You are expected also to find the most efficient way to present the data i.e. figure -vs- table, figure or table format etc...

10/21/04- All-

The latest fruit quality lab protocol is up for grab!!!

The lab is up for downloading.

10/07/04- All- To help you with the respiration lab report.

From the handout for the respiration lab you are asked to: "Measure the dry weight losses (use slope of beginning and ending rate). Refer to the equation provided in class. You can also learn how to do it by downloading and reading “measuring-respiration” from UC Davis posted on the Lab website". You will have to combine both source of information to answer that question. Look at the second last page of your class notes entitled:" Life after harvest-respiration" and the UC Davis paper.

10/05/04- All

Hey guys, the respiration data is posted.

10/05/04- All

I am currently working on the data for respiration. I am putting it in a format easier for you to graph. The data will be up sometimes today.

09/30/04- All

For the MA lab, you are only responsible for explaining what happened to the atmosphere of the broccoli placed in MA on wednesday (thick and thin plastic). However, I need all the calculations done for them all. Put the calculations in an appendix for partial credit. Present all your data in a table form. Units should be in ml/g for O2 and CO2. Remember that you have injected 0.25ml of gas on the partitioner. The area counts for the standard gases (10% O2, 10% CO2, and 10ppm ethylene) are provided to you below. I'll be answering my emails friday morning if you need a hand. You can also make an appointment.

For the respiration lab. the data is now on the website. Note for your report that the respiration was recorded for 1 week only instead of 2. Scott needed the chambers. Make sure to consider this while writting up your reports.

The grades for your past to labs are up. Check it out!

09/29/04- All

Raw data for the modified atmophere lab has been posted. You are responsible to present the data in a table or figure format. Calculations might be required. If you need a hand, don't hesitate to come and talk to me.

09/29/04- Remote campuses:

Pictures for the MA and respiration lab are now up.

09/24/04- Remote campuses:

Since you can't do any of the lab procedures, I will be posting pictures so you can put the text for the material and methods of each lab into perspective. I will also post any data generated by the Pullman students for you to be able to do your weekly lab report. I took digital pictures for the respiration rooms and of the modified atmospheres today. I will post them under the right lab later on this week end. I will also post the data for respiration, ethylene, O2 consumption, and weights under the right lab.

09/21/04- All campuses:

Your lab report for respiration is not due until the 8th of October.

09/13/04- All campuses:

The site for the Agriculture Handbook 66 does not appear to be operational!
